Decorating Classes

Besides having the most fun ever? We will be going over the cookie basics, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you get to take home with you that day! Whether you want a fun date, a girls' night out or just want to explore what cookie decorating is on your own - we have a seat for you.

Yes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-do the classes. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class - so don't forget it! If you’re skipping class and just ordering the kit – swing by anytime during class to sneak in and pick it up – it’ll be ready for you!

Nope! No baking skills required. In class we just straight to the fun part — decorating! Your cookies will be pre-baked and the icing already mixed and colored. But don't worry I’ll also send you our sugar cookie and icing recipe after class. You'll have everything you'll need to make them from scratch in the future.

Already have a little decorating experience under your belt… er… apron? Come on too! I can help with questions on icing consistencies and dough spread!

You’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing, the value of different icing consistencies – we’ll touch on tips and tricks to make your cookies look even better than they taste (and they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme such as marbling, outlining, wet-on-wet, brush embroidery, and painting. Or hey – go off script and make your own designs – it’s your class! After your first class you'll be ready to make your own sugar cookies from scratch and decorate again and again.

Nothing but a smile! Everything needed will be provided for you. All you need to do is join us and have fun! That said, we will email you a reminder that the following optional supplies may be helpful:

Apron

Things can get a little messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute!).

Glasses

There will be a presentation to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away or close up, your glasses may be a great bet.

Phone

I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring your phone to capture some memories!

Good attitude

Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

Our classes are for almost any age! From youngsters to grandparents - come have some cookie fun with us! Our in-person classes are suggested for ages 8 and up. You know your child best. If you think they'd enjoy a 2 hour class then they are welcome to sign up. We love seeing little ones in class.

If you think your child may be too young to enjoy the in-person class, purchase an additional take-home kit! We'll send you the class presentation, and you can teach your kids in the comfort of your own home at their pace.

Due to space restrictions, we do not have room for parents to stand by and watch their children in class. A ticket is required for each parent and child. Classes are enjoyable for the whole family and we love seeing families decorate together!

Alternatively, consider purchasing an additional take-home kit to share with your little ones. This is great for larger families looking to stretch that dough.

By the end of the class, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for the next day in their bakery box. In addition to the goodies, you’ll have new skills, memories, and fun! After class you will also get a copy of the presentation plus our sugar cookie and royal icing recipe so you can practice again anytime you like!

You can sign up as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We do have a seating cap, so definitely sign up ASAP!

If you are a large group you can message/email us to confirm availability for public classes. For groups of 8+ go check out our Private Party options!

Yes! We offer private cookie decorating parties for groups of 8 or more. You can book a private party for just your friends / coworkers / family. Book our cookie classroom or have us set up at your special event. Cookie decorating parties are perfect for a bachelorette, shower, or birthday, even a company event!

Classes are held in Columbus, Indiana at our Cookie Classroom. Occasionally, we partner with local venues for special events or larger classes. Check the registration page for each class's venue. We will send you a confirmation email a week before class as well as the day before, with the map linked and parking info.
